Repurposing

What was once a (falling apart) deck at my Moms house.....

...becomes raised beds in the new garden.

Wow what a huge exciting project. I noticed from your comment at One Green Generation that you are growing oats for oatmeal. Do you have some kind of mill to flatten them? I've always thought oats might be interesting to grow.

So does Mom know you took her deck?

...tee hee :)

And Daphne, you mean the oats don't come out in little packages with maple and brown sugar...just add water?

Seriously, you have to flatten them?

ps. thanks for stopping by, I checked out your blog and will definitely be back.

Well if they are oatmeal you have to flatten them. Otherwise they would be oat groats not oatmeal. I make oatmeal (the old fashioned kind that takes time to cook) for the family every weekend. They all love real oatmeal. They put up with the instant kind when we go camping, but don't like it as much thank goodness. I'm thinking if I served them oat groats they would mutiny. I'm trying to find a way at home to make oatmeal from real oats.

So great! What an awesome reclamation project - and so many beautiful beds ready to be planted. How exciting!
